Wildlife trafficking is a multi-billion dollar black market trade, and is dramatically reducing the world's wildlife year after year. Communities often lack sufficient education relating to the importance of wildlife and habitat conservation to their way of life. Rural communities surrounding protected areas are offered legal alternatives to poaching to generate income for themselves and their families

Description:	Wildlife Alliance represents conservation and wildlife protection programs in Southeast Asia, the Russian Far East, and marine seascapes of the Western Pacific. We believe protecting the world's wildlife and wild places is both feasible and essential. It is not enough to develop initiatives to protect a single species or piece of land. Taking the entire region into account, including socioeconomic factors and cultural references, we work with communities and law enforcement officials to develop strategies so wildlife and people can live together. Wildlife Alliance provides alternatives to wildlife poaching, habitat destruction, and illegal wildlife trade through sustainable farming and a Poachers-to-Protectors training program, offering new skills to many families in Southeast Asia. Wildlife Alliance's Kouprey Express embodies the belief that conservation education will help preserve the culture of the areas in which we work, and is fundamental to our wildlife protection goals. We provide direct protection to wildlife in danger through Illegal wildlife trade intervention and wildlife rescue care, at the Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center in Cambodia.
