Heal the Bay is a nonprofit environmental organization, founded more than 20 years ago by a group of Los Angeles residents who couldn’t stand to let unchecked pollution and toxicity claim our coastal waters and the animals, fish, and birds who live there.
Our strategy is to employ sound science, passionate advocacy, effective legislation and wide-reaching education to improve the quality and health of our beaches and waterways. It’s working. Our coastal waters are improving. Awareness of what causes pollution is getting better. And we’ve attracted a membership of more than 12,000 people. Today, we are one of the largest local non-profit environmental groups in Los Angeles County. |

There will be an informational town hall meeting June 17th, from 5:30-7pm at Malibu City Council Chambers, so people can learn more about saving SoCal coastal waters. Don't miss this will be a great opportunity for John/Jane Q public to get educated about what Heal the Bay and others are doing to protect Malibu’s valuable coastal resources. Please share this info with anyone you think will be interested. Local voices are actually very important in this process. The Marine Life Protection Act Initiative is a process to establish scientifically-based marine protected areas (think Yosemite of the Sea) in SoCal waters. Our oceans are faced by many threats, and our coastal fish populations are in decline. For decades, we've protected our iconic places on land through the establishment of parks, and now it’s time to do the same for our ocean and Malibu’s special places. Come out and learn more.
