About the United Way Challenge
- How much money will be awarded in the United Way Challenge?

$50,000 in total grants will be awarded for causes participating in the challenge.
- How many parts are there to the United Way Challenge?

The challenge is divided into three phases:

Invite (June 21 - 28, 2008)
The cause that adds the most members wins $2,500 for their local United Way and young adult programs. Second place gets $1,500 and third gets $1,000.

Mobilize (June 29 - August 31, 2008)
The cause with the most “advocates” will receive $5,000 for their United Way. An advocate is a member of the cause who has recruited 3 friends. The second through sixth place causes will each receive $1,000.

Activate (September 1 - October 31, 2008)
The causes with the top Day of Action events will split $35,000 in grants for their United Way. This phase will take into account donations made through Causes and in-kind donations and will be reported off-line.

Invite (June 21 - 28, 2008)
- I am the administrator of a cause not participating in the challenge. Can I enter?
- Only causes approved by United Way can enter the challenge.
