Today, violence against women and girls is entrenched in every society. Worldwide, at least one of every three women has faced some form of physical or psychological repression, most notably through sex trafficking, domestic abuse, sexual assault, honor killings, female genital mutilation, child marriage, emotional and verbal abuse, and other forms of violence. The Desired Outcome of this Petition:

During the initial phase of 'enditnow,' the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) and the Women's Ministries Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church expect to collect 1 million signatures from individuals in more than 200 countries who support the end of violence against women and girls. During the initial phase of 'enditnow,' the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) and the Women's Ministries Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church expect to collect 1 million signatures from individuals in more than 200 countries who support the end of violence against women and girls. These signatures, which are being gathered through grassroots efforts, will be presented to the United Nations to raise additional awareness about the issue, advocate for the creation of effective new policies that protect women and girls, and make public efforts to end violent practices against the female gender. (show less)
