Congress is currently revising the Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act, which helps determine what foods are served in school lunches.

This petition urges Congress to include more vegetables, fruits, vegetarian foods, and healthful nondairy beverages in school lunches.

We petition that…

All students have a right to have vegetarian and vegan meals available in their schools. Some choose them due to concerns about animals, health, religious reasons, or the environment. But every student benefits from having these healthful foods available.

Many students do not have access to healthful foods at home, and many schools have trouble affording healthful meals for students.

THEREFORE: We call on Congress to support healthy meals for schools. That means more vegetables, fruits, vegetarian and vegan meals, and healthful nondairy beverages in lunches at EVERY SCHOOL.
