Mission:	DREAM builds communities of families and college students that empower children from affordable housing neighborhoods to recognize their options, make informed decisions, and achieve their dreams.
Description:	The DREAM Program recruits, screens, trains, and supports college student volunteers to run a variety of programs in affordable housing communities. The foundation of the organization is a weekly mentoring program through which college students and children ages 5-13 are matched in one-to-one caring, supportive, and long-term relationships. Each week, groups of mentoring pairs participate in a variety of group and individual activities. At the end of each season, the pairs also participate in a culminating event such as a trip to Boston or Washington D.C., or an event such as a field day or a day of skiing. The school-year program is integrated with a summer program, during which college interns at each community run a variety of on-site activities. Additionally during the summer, groups of 10-14 year olds and student leaders embark on two-week High Adventure trips to the West Coast and Rocky Mountains, and groups of 8-10 year olds and student leaders trek out on local camping trips. DREAM also provides a summer residential camp experience to all DREAM children age 8 to 17.
