| Breast Cancer Research: | Cancer research details: "[The Nurses' Health Study] is one of the most significant studies ever conducted on the health of women." -Donna Shalala, Former Secretary of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services The Nurses' Health Study (of Brigham and Women's Hospital, a flagship hospital of Harvard Medical School) is the world's LARGEST and LONGEST-running study into understanding cancer causes and preventions in women. The NHS has led the world in finding causes, preventions, and treatments for breast cancer for >30 years. However, due to limited federal funds, research dollars from public donations are becoming ever more critical to continue the vital research into women's cancers.
