| Mission: | The Anita Borg Institute's mission is to increase the impact of women in all areas of technology -- from engineering to computer science to mathematics. We provide resources, workshops, and events that help women develop as leaders, network, and learn how to navigate all levels of their careers. We are a global resource for industry, academia, and government and help them identify, attract, develop, and retain female leaders in technology. |

The Anita Borg Institute accomplishes its mission through specific programs such as, The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing conferences, The Systers online community, The Leadership Initiative, and the Virtual Development Center (VDC). The Anita Borg Institute also partners with such organizations as the National Center for Women and IT and ACM to leverage and magnify it's message. Each program address's the Institute's mission in a unique way and focuses on specific communities within the Institute's constituency. The Institute partners in important initiatives that enhance its mission and support its constituencies. Examples of these are: the National Center for Women in Science, Engineering and Math, The Center for American Women and Politics Forum for State Legislators, the International Museum of Women project, and the Girl Scouts, Girls in Math, Science and Technology Initiative. The Institute's active involvement with these and other organizations adds collaborative weight and strength to the community determined to make substantial, positive and systemic change in the world. |
