GIVE Foundation is a philahtropic exchange that connects people and organizations in the US with projects in India. The exchange helps provide total transparency and accountability in project implementation. We follow a unique partnership model where different partners bring a lot of passion and zeal to the effort, and the cause they work on is typically their organizational mission as well. What we want to achieve: Charity is generally sporadic giving by donors when a foundation or non-profit institution approaches them. We aim to make ''giving'' a sustained commitment by fostering a relationship between charities and their donors. Along the way, we will answer questions like "Will my donation reach it''s destination?" "How was my contribution used?" "How can I make my contribution more effective?" Give Foundation is working to promote the cause of giving by answering the above questions and making charity more than a 1 way street: we close the loop between donors and charities. Not only do donors contribute to charities, but we help charities give feedback and information to donors.

As of date we are working on projects in India in the following areas: 1. Care for the Disabled 2. Care for the elderly 3. Child Welfare 4. Education 5. Environment 6. Health & Sanitation 7. Human Rights & Empowerment 8. Livelihoods and poverty 9. Women and family services 10. Youth Welfare 11. Giving Infrastructure We work closely with over 100 agencies that meet our stringent selection criteria. The organizations that apply are first screened on basic criteria such as being registered, are the organizations more than 3 years old and if not, then the profile of their CEO, are they secular, etc. After being screened, the organizations are appraised on the basis of selection criteria (listed below). Ratings on an 8-point scale are provided on each of the criteria based on interaction and experience with the organization. Ratings lower than 2 need to be explained as deviation. The total score is compared with the average of ratings of all previously listed NGOs. Criteria: - Responsiveness - Transparency and accountability - Capacity to use funds - Need for funds - Professionalism and governance - Unitisation (to offer options to donors to enable donations to their preferred cause. This also promotes greater accountability as options are arrived at after detailed cost analysis) The process of selection takes about 45-90 days
