| Description: |
We're the ballot initiative to create passenger rail in Colorado, along: the I-70 and I-25 corridors. The average American car -- which is usually carries only the driver -- uses 24 miles per gallon. A RangerXpress diesel train uses .0444 gallons per passenger, per mile! That's 1846 times less fuel used, and 1846 times less greenhouse gas, per passenger!! Naturally, the trains would meet the tight new EPA diesel standards, as they'd be using new Cummins or Detroit Diesel, truck engines. As a bonus, trains fight suburban sprawl! Transit drives land use away from the typical suburban mess -- and towards Smart Growth and/or New Urbanist land use! |
