Over 1000 people a year die waiting for an organ transplant. Thousands more wait, seriously ill or in great discomfort, for their perfect match.
The average wait for a kidney transplant is 1472. That's 4 years. 90% of people in UK supports organ donation and transplantation in principle - but only 25% are registered donors. By changing to a system of opt-out like 21 other countries around the world we can save lives with one less form to fill in. |

Holly's campaign will raise awareness of organ donation and encourage more people to think, talk and do something about it. As a result, this campaign will save and transform lives. Note from the Battlefront team: After three years waiting for a kidney donor, Holly finally received a kidney transplant on 24th October 2008. She is currently recovering from her surgery. Until she is fully recovered her friend and fellow transplant recipient, Emily Thackray, will be helping Holly run this campaign.
