Featured above is Starlight child, Ryan, at Fenway Fantasy Day donated by Vic Miller of New York. He, among other four other families enjoyed a fun-filled day at Fenway park in Boston where they changed in the locker room, came out through the dug out, and swung at 10-15 pitches, and ran around the bases!

I wanted to share my story about my son Nicholas. On March 29, 2008 Nicholas and his brother were asked to be in a spelling contest. They went to the spelling bee and were rewarded with a chain to wear around their neck for doing a good job. When Nicholas arrived home, he still had the chain on his neck. Nicholas and his brother decided to go play with their Play Station, but then Nicholas wanted to see a movie. He stuck the DVD cord into the electrical outlet, and as he was plugging the cord in, the chain around his neck interfered with the plug and electrocuted him. He has 3rd degree burns all over his neck. He is truly blessed to be here at all. Thank God for all the support I received at Shriners Hospital in Sacramento, and the doctors and nurses at Children’s Hospital in Oakland too. And of course, the Fun Center! That really brightened his day. Thank you Starlight. He was supposed to have surgery on April 24, but another doctor wanted to take a look at him again. He said it looked like it's healing well and surgery might not be necessary. The entire time the doctor was looking at his neck, Nicholas was too busy playing with your Fun Center. I wish he could get one of those Fun Centers at home! Thank you for taking the time to listen to me and read my story. From Nicholas’ heart to your heart.
