What makes a great place to play? Truly great places to play engage the mind, activate the body, and excite the imagination. This summer, KaBOOM! is partnering with New York Architect David Rockwell to help create truly great playgrounds across America. By distributing Rockwell's innovative Imagination Playground systems to communities who need them, KaBOOM! is taking a giant leap toward our vision of a great place to play within walking distance of every child. Imagination Playground is based around the concept of "free play," a simple but powerful idea that children should initiate and direct their own play, and should be able to manipulate their environment. Find out which communities from across the country will be awarded $100,000 in grants in a fun-filled, KaBOOM! style awards show! From Atlanta to Phoenix to Wapello (Iowa) to San Francisco to El Paso-- 21 communities from coast to coast will find out if their community will be awarded a KaBOOM! grant of up to $25,000.
