Brought in a finch yesterday. When Esri came downstairs and yelled at me, I just walked away. BUSTED. And I hadn't even damaged it yet, unless you count the feathers. She took MY FINCH outside, where I'm sure she ate it in private. She came back and put me on the highest level of my cat tower, then vacuumed up all the lovely feathers. I was shut in for the rest of the day, and even though I cried BIG TEARS, she was unimpressed. Instead of letting me out, she ordered something off the Internet. I have a bad feeling about this.

It's cool and breezy, and the workmen are not quite as noisy today, so decided to lounge on the deck, atop the distressingly aged hot-tub cover. Jumped up there and gave Esri a peremptory command. She went away, and returned with a choice of two cushions. I've trained her well, although a more perfect servant wouldn't have bothered with the leopard skin bed. Clearly it was a day for the pink corduroy.

Hot today, which meant lots of blue jays in the birdbath. Esri thinks it's their size that makes me hesitate to attack them. Pah. Feeling a squirming body under one's paw is simply not worth hearing their horrible, horrible voices. I have my beautiful ears to think of.

Esri left her purse open on the floor. I think I managed to chin rub all the individual contents. Mine! It's all mine!

Esri brushed cornstarch through my fur, to get rid of car grease. It makes my mouth feel chalky, but I guess it does the job. Must roll in dirt before next tongue bath. I always mean to stay out from under cars, but they're such good places to watch everything that happens in the alley!

Weather is better today. If I can find a really dry dirt patch, maybe I can getrid of some of this car grease.
