Beyond Fossil Fools – The Roadmap to Energy Independence by 2040 is a
“must read” because the world has a colossal problem that requires a colossal world-size solution---now.

If a presidential candidate or candidates for congress do not take an aggressive position in respect to solving the most dangerous problem of this century—energy--they do not deserve our vote. The presidential candidates thus far have not shown us any kind of a plan and neither seems to understand the urgency needed to deal with this problem in time to prevent an economic meltdown for our children. One solution offered by both is the so-called “Cap and Trade” scheme to reduce emissions. Europe has had such a program in place for almost three years, and their emissions have increased. Besides, as politicians often do, they are putting their efforts into solving the wrong problem. Emissions are not THE problem, the burning of fossil fuels is. Further, if incumbents ignore this issue – the first chance you get, SEND THEM HOME. This single issue if not fixed puts our nation and other nations at an almost doom’s day risk.

In May of 1973, Shuster alerted the U.S. Congress to a pending energy crisis. The Oil Embargo followed within months. Now – 35 years later –the crisis continues and Shuster says, “it’s time Americans to stop being fossil fools and end our dependence on foreign oil by supporting a move to renewable energy, with nuclear as the backbone.”

While the prospects of solving our energy problem can be invigorating, we need the kind of vision John F. Kennedy instilled in us when it was decided we should go to the moon. The nation made a commitment and did it. However, some of us have lost confidence in our leaders doing what is necessary to enable a timely energy solution. They have not had the courage or perhaps the knowledge to deal with many of the important and difficult issues of the day. Why would the most important issue of this century, energy, be any different?

Tim Penny, former Democratic U.S. Congressman says:

“Beyond Fossil Fools opened my eyes. It is a political, economic, and financial epiphany….The United States must move to renewable and affordable energy in the nexst 30 years. The message is clear and convincing. Every policy maker, corporate executive, and thoughtful citizen must read this book.”
