| Description: | Geri Ahearn's review: GoneAway into the Land is a riveting tale of not just John's epic journey, but also our journey through life. The vivid description of "The Beast" is incredible. The remarkable journey is chilling, haunting, and mysterious as it takes the reader to a place with unforgettable consequences. John Greber tugs at the reader's heart as much as Trevor does in PAY IT FORWARD. Jeffrey B. Allen's GoneAway into the Land transforms into an action - packed adventure that explodes with spectacular special effects, and the reader will indulge into an awe-inspiring experience as if viewing one of Steven Spielberg's finest! Norm Goldman's review: Using his own unique style and voice, Jeffrey B. Allen with GoneAway Into the Land has really stretched the limits of the traditional fantasy novel. Shifting in and out of fantasy, Allen cleverly intertwines the theme of child and spousal abuse with a land of the unknown.Take the journey into a Land like no other. With its deftly constructed plot, episodic structure, a lovable hero, interesting secondary characters, and a dash of suspense, Allen’s fascinating debut novel is a haunting tale that jolts along at its own pace. Moreover, Allen’s writing is extremely powerful particularly his imagery and masterful descriptions such as when John meets up with “The Beast.” And when all's said and done, we have a novel that is not only amazingly fitting for our times, but one that is rich and rewarding for anyone, young or old, wishing to ponder over insightful questions pertaining to our existence and journey through life. Darlene Wenhold, English Literature, Quakertown Schools: "Jeffrey B. Allen hooked me into this fantastical tale with his vivid description of the "beast" as seen through the eyes of young John Greber. There is, of course, more to the "beast" than meets the eye! As Allen's tale of good vs. evil unfolded before me, I found myself willingly traveling along with his charismatic characters into the lands of sweets bringing back so many wonderful sensory memories of my childhood. There is a real depth to this story; it can be appreciated on a variety of levels. GoneAway into the Land is a book you will want to read more than once!" |

We gave him a great celebration of life - which is the way we do it in our family. If you read GoneAway, and if you haven’t, I hope you will, you would know that I believe when our body gives out, the transition into another state of reality is as seamless as dropping off to sleep. He is GoneAway. His spirit builds and his struggle continues, as in the Hindu tradition, until he reaches Nirvana. Deep huh? Not really. All religions basically believe the same thing, although many attach a deity or a super being who we worship as a God. I believe in that as well, because to believe in something unquestioned, is to have faith, and faith carries with it strength and conviction, and that will guide us into the next life, whatever it may be. Your journey is your journey, and my journey is mine, of which I cannot give.

Yes, GoneAway is really picking up steam as it continues its march into school curriculums, independent bookstores, book clubs, and more. Reviews like Geri Ahearn’s, Norm Goldman’s and the many other people who have posted reviews, are instrumental in that success. Please continue to pass along the word. GoneAway is a novel that provides the stimulus to ponder issues that are seldom presented in the way other books present them. A unique forum and an opportunity for the readers to have fun discussing the many aspects and perspectives that GoneAway brings to light through a riveting story of fantasy, life, death, abuse, religious fanaticism, and other issues that are subtly brought into the story without being preachy or judgmental.
Please help me to promote GoneAway in anyway you can. It would be very much appreciated.

This book was a remarkable fantasy that the reader can relate to when thinking about life's obstacles, accomplishments and the fears we all want to overcome to get to where we want to be.
I can see how adolescents would love this book. Yet at the same time, there is so much depth to the story that every adult is sure to enjoy it as well.
Although, I am not used to reading fantasy, I heard this was an exceptional book and that I should give it a chance. I am thrilled that I did.
The writing skill that Jeffery B. Allen exhibits, discloses an enormous talent that has surpassed most authors I have read and critiqued over the past several years.
I would highly recommend Gone Away into the Land. The descriptions are magnificent. The clarity of where you are, what the characters look like, the emotions involving each scene, could win an award, and should. This is one Fabulous Book!

No doubt, I am sure Allen had a great deal of fun writing this novel and I am certain readers will find a great deal of fun in reading this provocative fantasy novel.

I was amazed at how the book kept my interest . The characters were real though different and led me on a strange journey. I knew what I wanted for John. He needed to suceed for himself but mostly for his Mom and sister. There was a harsh reality to the underlying reason all this took place which should be read by many teens. Jeffery B Allen has created a cast of characters and a world apart that leads the reader to hurry in their reading for that hoped for conclusion. Good work
