When I read both Scriptures, Koran and Torah I see a wide difference between the two- not only rhetorically but also substantively. The Koran is almost immediately dogmatic. It sets forth right belief before it is ever established; one must submit to Islamic Monotheism and reject the theisms of Christianity and Judaism. It does this prior to communicating any self-revelation of Allah. The Koran never really tells us Who Allah is and What he has done prior to its faith-mandates. The Torah assumes God's existence but makes no such demands upon the reader. It gives a history- an account of Creation, the Fall, the Flood, Babel, Abraham, the Exodus, etc. etc.
The Torah does not immediately hurl mandates
