My husband and I have physical custody of his minor child. The child's mother has him the entire summer visitation due to us living in two different states and her not being able to have the standard visitations. His birthday is in the middle of the summer. What are our and our parents (child's grandparents) legal rights to attend his birthday party since we never have him on his birthday? At first it was fine for us to come along with some other family members. Now the mother is saying that only my husband and I can come and that our family can see him on our time. He only has one birthday and just doesn't seem fair to deprive the child of seeing his grandparents.
