Slow Birth...Vancouver Doula

Reclaiming the natural rhythm of pregnancy, birth, and parenting

Description:Slow Birth honours each woman's hormonal rhythm, allowing for the ebb and flow of labour. If there's a plateau in labour, Slow Birth means listening to the wisdom of the body, and letting the body take its own time. In Slow Birth, the clocks are all turned around. If we rush the body, we often do it harm. Slow Birth just doesn't like to be rushed...and interference can stop it completely. Slow Birth doesn't mean that the birth has to take a long time. Birth should stand outside of time. It may be fast. It may be slow. But birth should be allowed to take the time it needs. Slow Birth - reclaiming the natural rhythm of pregnancy, birth, and parenting. - Jacquie Munro, Vancouver Doula, Slow Birth

Lovely to hear that, Melissa. And I always think of you "crossing the log" to the other side...

From a person who only has "slow births" herself, I **always** think of my 2am phone call to you in desperation to hurry my labor up and you reminded me to trust my baby and my body and I use this for all my clients. In fact, I have one in labor today who has been in labor since 4:30am - so almost 12hrs now and she is learning to trust her body and her baby as I type :)
