One of my novels The Dark Abode, which received some controversy in India now published again with second edition and the publisher has posted it at SCRIBD, a website, from which any one can download this novel at free of cost. This novel is on the relationship of an Indian house wife and a Pakistani painter. But the novel does not confined with such a relationship. It widens its landscape to religions, societies and countries. The Hindu fundamentalists rose their voice against this novel. But when it was translated in to Bengali and published from Bangladesh under the title "Mithya Gerosthali" ISBN No :984 404 287-9) ,and the book received a wide response through out the country. Later it has been translated in to English. The first edition was exhausted within a year. The English version is a collage presentation of my novel with American poet painter Ed Backer's sketches 'The Uma".However, if possible, please read this novel from http://www.scribd.com/doc/13579559/The-Dark-Abode

In her feminist discourse, Sarojini Sahoo has tried to touch every corner of the topic in her blog SENSE & SENSUALITY. In her current blogging Forwarding New Hope or Running After a Mirage? ( http://sarojinisahoo.blogspot.com/ ), she has tried to include this very rarely discussed topic of gender dysphoria. Please access and participate in the discussion forum.

In a free-wheeling discussion with Jaydeep Sarangi on her work, the noted Oriya writer Sarojini Sahoo says, "I differ to Simon de Beauvoir in her 'Other' theory where she tells us that 'one is not born but rather, becomes a woman'. I think a woman is born as a woman. There are inherent physical, behavioral, emotional,...... and psychological differences between men and women. And we affirm and celebrate these differences as wonderful and complementary. These differences do not evidence the superiority of one sex over the other but rather, serve to show that each sex is complemented and made stronger by the presence of the other. As a different unit, similar to man, the female mass has their right for equity." Read more at Muse India (http://www.museindia.com/ )

There are many fallacies in a Hindu mind regarding Manu Samhita. The political parties often use to exploit these fallacies for their political gain. I have posted an article on Manuvad in my blog SENSE & SENSUALITY at http://sarojinisahoo.blogspot.com/
Please access. Your comments at the blog site may help to create a meaningful discussion forum.

In one of my last articles The Historic Role of Gender in Language, Dr.(Ms) Sarojini Sahoo described how the gender biased grammar make women invisible from language. Away from the demands of feminists for the same status in language, some social linguistic scholars think the language of men and women differ in their speech patterns. Please access her recent article The Myth of Mars and Venus from FEMININE-FRAGRANCE at

Are we, the Indians, also suffering from racial out look? If not, why our all the matrimonial ads contain a common phrase ‘looking for a fair beautiful girl’?
In one side when a political leader, either from the south or from Maharashtra shouts 'why do these boys come from other states to our state and steal our jobs,' we don’t find any racism there. But when a Westerner tells why Asians are stealing our jobs away, we say they are racists and we are suffering from racial discrimination.
Such are some bitter truths, I have discussed in my recent blogging at SENSE & SENSUALITY at
http://sarojinisahoo.blogspot.com/2009/09/skin-colour-among-indians-is-it-really.html .
I solicit your comments on the blog-site.
