Description:Recessions are rough on people and on businesses. I've lived through several (in Buffalo, mind you!) and even started a successful business in one. What we have now is a downturn worse than anything you or I have lived through. We are learning how much of sense of self, of safety, and of progress through life is dependent on a good economy. These next few years are going to hurt in some surprising ways. I don't want to see anyone's spirit crushed by the difficulties that lie ahead. If you hunker down in fear (which most people have) then the recession has won and you have lost way too much of your humanity. If you continue on as though nothing has changed -- you will find yourself in a painful personal recession, because everything has changed but you. I will show you how, if you make subtle adjustments in your views of money, business, and what is important to you in life, this recession can be a time of tremendous growth for you. I will help you weave your own personal resilient path through tough times by teaching you everything I've learned and continue to learn about what I call recession proof thinking. It's a combination of expanding what you expect and can do with your life, understanding how the economy functions during a recession and adapting your financial life accordingly, and learning to see opportunities for both personal and financial growth. If you have never lived through really hard financial times, my blog will help you deal. If you are fearful about your financial future, my blog will help you transform your fear into sound actions. If you are looking to generate additional income, my blog will help you find a business that fits you. If you are down about losing your retirement savings, my blog will help you redefine your future. But most of all, I hope my blog will enable you to learn that tough times are the best times to ask a lot of yourself, and a lot of life...and give you many practical ideas, techniques, tools, and insights to help you thrive and grow. My blog is dedicated to my father George Kuhn, whose difficulties in dealing with economic change in Buffalo sparked a life-long interest in me in understanding economic resilience and the personal characteristics that make it possible.
