The Old Coot

I’m looking forward to 2010. I have high hopes. This could be the year the government enforces the many environmental laws already active, but not enforced. Our rivers and streams are suffering from over pollution .Big business has taken advantage of the lack of enforcement. Many continue to dump waste into our rivers and streams. Meanwhile our water supply continues to worsen. Our national parks are in dire need of attention. Many of our national parks are polluted from overuse by automobiles, and tour buses. This condition is unacceptable. As we lose more land to development, we have fewer choices of places to experience the great outdoors. We are the stewards of these national treasures. And they should be treated with respect. There are many organizations involved in saving our environment. You can research them under (environment ) online. One is the Sierra Club, but there are many others all over America.

It’s the holiday season. I know because the RNC Senators have stopped calling the Democrats nasty names. Isn’t that just warm and fuzzy? But as I look back on 2009 I can’t help but think 2010 will be a better year. Let’s hope all the bitterness caused by the healthcare bill is over. Maybe after all is said and done the two parties will reconcile their differences. One can only hope. In my opinion 2010 has all the signs of being a better year. As long as OBAMA does not decide to bail out anymore companies. We operate as a capitalistic society . In the business world the smart and strong survive. So G.M , CHRYSLER, and all the banks that were in trouble better find a solution to their wows on their own. They should work smart and set an example to the world that good old AMERICAN know how is alive and well. They will never achieve that goal operating under the greed method Taking and not giving back to the people who work for them.

Things are looking very encouraging for the healthcare bill to pass this year. However it will be a scaled down version. I suppose that’s better than no bill at all. If this bill does pass, PRESIDENT OBAMA should be given the proper respect he deserves. No President has ever fought harder to pass a bill than OBAMA. From Harry Truman to the present time the health issue has been a matter of incendiary debate. This bill may not be perfect but it is a start in the right direction. However In my opinion I hope there are no more social programs of this magnitude on the horizon. The government should not be or become big brother. Americans should be left to make our own decisions to what we need and do not need. Freedom of choice and destiny is what sets us apart from most other nations. Government interference leads to reduced rights of the people and to socialism ,which is not acceptable.

I wish I had something to write about today. But I’m afraid I’ve got a case of writers block. Plus nothing of importance has happened . I do want to thank all the people who continue to support my blog. I thank you and all the new readers that will join use. It’s been a real pleasure sharing my opinions with you and hope that you have enjoyed reading my posts. Sometimes I rant on and sometimes I get angry at the way things are. But I always try to stay true to my feelings about certain subjects. So thanks to Congress, the Senate, rush, and Glen , for giving me plenty to write about. (WOW!! Me thanking RUSH, and GLEN ) And let’s not forget PRESIDENT OBAMA, and Dick Cheney. And the usual suspects from around the world.

Now that Iran has successfully fired a missile, the world is less safe. The fate of Israel, and other Middle East countries could be in jeopardy. Mr. OBAMA seems to think having a nice chat with the head of Iran will somehow turn him into a friend of America. The Iranian government is Hell bent on destroying Israel, and Iraq. He also has ambitions to cause problems for the United States. A hardy hand shake is not a deal maker. These dictatorial leaders are for the most part liars, and demagogues. These leaders cannot be trusted to keep their word. We should have learned our lesson during the second world war. We are faced with many rouge nations that are capable of starting a war. One such nation is North Korea, who now has the technology to build missiles, atomic bombs, and other weapons of mass destruction. Talking to the North Koreans is useless, they only understand strength, and an arsenal of weapons.

Some people are just downright mean. Consideration for other people seems to have disappeared. Common courtesy is no longer in fashion. In my opinion it’s a lack of teaching, either in the schools or in the home. Television also plays a huge role in the development of kid’s attitudes towards other people. We have few role models today who we can learn from by example. I’m not prudish by any means I like rock, hip hop, retro, and most things that young people like. But, the difference is that when I grew up I was taught to respecting other people’s rights and opinions. I’m not saying all young people are rude, I believe most are well mannered, but there is that element that is giving this generation a bad reputation. As I see it we have to practice being positive, and forget all that negativity that we are exposed to on a daily basis. I am not just addressing the young; many adults are just as guilty of bad manners, and lack of courtesy.

A Song for the Times about the Gitmo Move of Terrorist
Partial Lyrics here..Hear the Song, "AbomiNation"
By William Corinthus Hartsell on Facebook
Bamaz been laughin, Bamaz been swaggin
Bamaz been spendin, Bamaz been Bendin
Bamaz been pressing green backs night and day
Bamaz been travelin havin fun
Bendin and bowing to everyone
Smiling at the great wall, Closing Guantanamo
He can look you in the eye with a great big smile
While he gives away our American Pride
He’s always sorry for being who we are
God is Great, Allah is Good
Sorry folks I’m a little confused
It’s scary to think about our next one dollar bill
No more laughin, No more swaggin
No more spendin, No more bendin
No more printin good money after bad
Just give back the money we trusted you with
We’re in a bad way, need to pay the rent
I wasn’t intended for a trip to the Orient

The death tax, do we not pay enough taxes when were alive? This tax is in its self, ludicrous, and outright unfair. It goes by the name of estate tax, and is unfair at best, and evil to the surviving family members It was designed by politicians in Washington and aimed at the farmers of America. When the death of the farm owner occurred the surviving family members most likely could not pay the taxes , so the property was sold off to speculators for taxes due. Many politicians worked closely with those people or they themselves were buying up the property through a second party. Many people suffered from this unjust tax by losing the land that might have been in their families for several generations. They found themselves broke with no place to go. I say isn’t it time that Washington drops this abysmal tax? It is the most unfair tax put upon the American people and it’s time to end this cruel symbol of the past.
