Ok Dean- here it is...

This is a poem i wrote for my sister. Her name was Kathy. She had a presence that would light up a room within seconds. she fought breast cancer for 8 years-to hell and back many times, and I was there with her for most of it. I wrote this poem after she fought one of the hardest battles she had gone through . I only wish every day of my life that she won the war.....

Heavy air and darkened skies
layed upon unopened eyes
I will not face my deepest dread
nor bear to lift thy weary head.

I long for strength within my soul
if only I had wisdom old
In my dreams a distant hope
of loving arms to help me cope
I wake upon my bed despair
to search for light and open air.

The storm has passed, for I can breath
and walk in sun no more to grieve.
Blinding light on frozen snow
warmth and will within me grow.

I've found my life again at last
and worry not of desprate past.
I will rejoice an open door,
for I can face the world once more.
