Tina,

People have experimented with Radiess in the lip, but it's my impression that most Plastic Surgeons & Dermatologists have backed off on their enthusiasm for it. I think even the company that makes it discourages it that now (where they were initially promoting it). Radiess is kind of "grainy" and has little tolerance for error in where it's placed. so it can can of be too palpable in the lips IMO.

With all the other options like Juvederm & Restylane that have less potential issues in the lip, I'm not sure the risk/benefit ratio is enticing enough.

OTOH radiess is actually my favorite product for the deep lines you get along your nose (nasolabial folds) and below your mouth ("marionette lines"). In those areas, it length of result (~2-3 years) and it's efficiency (1 suring of that = 2 syringes of Juverderm to get the same result) make it a better choice to me.

thanks
Tina

Dr. Oliver, Thank you for your blog " Under their skin". Just curious, I experienced a local surgeon who injected radiess in my upper lip. Is this a common practice? I seemed to receive an awkward response to this info while later receiving a Juvederm inj. procedure . By the way your latest blog was most interesting. Your opinions on all subjects, as well as music are greatly appreciated. Blue Foundation "Eyes on Fire" and Iron and Wine " Flightless bird and American mouth" are both interesting. Thanks for your knowledge and feed back. Tina Reed
