Randy ForetSep 21, 2008

I just returned from serving first responders and victims of Hurricane Ike in South Texas. These included Texas National Guard, Dept. of Public Safety officers, Texas Rangers, and other emergency service personnel conducting search and rescue operations and guarding against looters. While serving hot meals and spiritual comfort to these dedicated folks and those impacted by this storm, I thought of how Jesus served the masses. Sunday's message was birthed. Serving empowered by the Holy Spirit is a targeted act of kindness intended to facilitate an encounter with the love of God. Serving under the guidance and anointing of the Holy Spirit is where Jesus Christ walks while feeding the poor, healing the sick, and clothing the naked. We are called to engage in this kind of power serving.
