Are computers making us dumber as they get smarter? Maybe it's part of the master plan . . . .
I can still remember how impressed I was with my father’s academic friends. Whatever I said to them, they always had an answer. I’d point to a ship in my book, and they’d tell me about the Bremen...more

A very interesting interview on ABC Radio in Sydney, Australia. Thanks John, you had some great things to say and made me have a good understanding of the challenges you face and the wonderful achievements that are possible!

I just finished reading your book after my 11 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with AS. It helped me understand how her mind works. She is having a horrible time making friends and is bullied constantly. I am looking at private schools that take kids with ADHD and Asperger's hoping it will help her feel more accepted and make friends. Thank you for sharing your story.

I've been hoping you'd write more books, but this is maybe even better! Or maybe not. Write more books anyway!

THANK YOU! My son was misdiagnosed until he was 10, not big deal to someone who was missed until 40, but it has been hard for him to fit in, to be accepted, to grow. Reading your book has been incredible for me. I was blown away when i read about how you can either be socialable or do well in school, but you couldn't do both at the same time...he is doing so well socially...but he is suddenly struggling in MATH of all things and i wasn't sure what in the world to do...now, i am more relaxed about it, he will be fine. He wears a shirt to school, I have autism, what is your excuse, and when N8 (as he spells his name, even though the teachers hate it) saw i was reading your book, he asked why, i said i wanted to learn more about him and why he is the way he is, all he said was "cool." I look forward to more from you, reading your blogs, your notes, because, through you, i hope more to learn about N8, the gr8.

I read this book in only a couple of sittings. It helped to reaffirm that my Aspergers boy is as normal as he needs to be. It also showed me that his future is far brighter than I ever thought. My creative, imaginative, friendly, loving, freaky little fella will find his way. Thank you very much for sharing your story.

Aspie, Daughter of Aspie, Mom to Aspie...
GREAT book, thanks!
I recall when my son was in the 3rd grade, after another horrible day at school where he got beat up (again) by "normals" (What a lark!) and he said he couldn't wait for college because then it wouldn't matter so much if you were a little different, but your knowledge and intellect would finally be of importance. Broke my heart then, but now he's a happy college geek enthralled with all things computer.
BTW, there's a typo on p.227 para 5; "The" should be "They".... silly printers!
