The IAU is holding its triennial General Assembly now, from August 3-14, meaning this is the time to email its Executive Committee, Resolutions Committee, Working Group on Planetary System Nomenclature, and as many attendees as possible asking that they reopen the discussion and resolution on planet definition.

Can someone please ask Mike Brown to pick up a gallon of milk for me?

Good for you, Mark! I applaud all teachers who refuse to blindly accept this ridiculous IAU demotion. Some supporters of the demotion claim it's adults, not kids who are upset by it, but your experience supports what I've heard, which is that kids love Pluto and want to see it reinstated.

This may sound ignorant, but what is "Mad Science?"

I teach "Mad Science" to kids and they always ask about Pluto! I tell them I still call it a planet.

Hi, Mike,
Thanks for the kind and supportive comments. You've actually been to my blog before? If so, I'm honored.
I think the IAU might be aware of its existence too. :)

Hi Laurel,
I knew where to find you! Been here before. Pretty compelling arguments, and you keep it up to date with the latest developments. Nice work.
