Hi Food Writer's Diary followers. Please let me pass on a code that we NRN writers can give to people we like for discounted registration to MUFSO. It locks in our rate of 50 percent off, which is, you know, cheap. Just go to mufso.com and use code PUB09 for your discount. It should all be self-explanatory, but if you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks.

Food Writer's Diary is enjoying robust traffic today, thanks mostly to a little link from eater.com: http://eater.com/archives/2008/12/listage_582.php

The Internets do love their scandals. Since criticizing Top Chef yesterday, I or my writing has been called:
“Keen-eyed” but “a tad too grumpy” http://dinersjournal.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/11/07/the-knives-come-out/
“adorable” and http://eater.com/archives/2008/11/top_chef_rants.php
“ever-cantankerous” http://nymag.com/daily/food/2008/11/diners_journal_vs_food_writers.html

eater.com linked to Food Writer’s Diary today with this cryptic message: "Le Cirque Auction Planned Long Before 'Economic Hurricane' [Thorn]"
So blog traffic is robust today. I find that when the people at Eater paraphrase Food Writer's Diary, people don't bother to click through, which makes sense. But cryptic messages like the one posted today are very effective.

Wendy’s has pulled ahead in my poll of favorite Big 3 burger chains: It has 12 votes. McDonald’s has 11, Burger King has five, and one participant claims never to have eaten at any of those chains.

Sent to me today: A giant assortment of cheeses, a bottle of Dominican rum and coconut-chicken stuffed jalpeño poppers.

Today, if you do a Google image search for “cabrito,” a picture from this blog ranks second, out of 118,000 results. That translates as more blog traffic than you might expect.

I have been fighting the "lard is bad" battle for years-hurry up and come up with a sexy name for it!

Wow, now that this blog has 16 readers, I guess links to all of my entries are posted here. I could see how that might be handy.
