Leventhorpe local vineyard was featured on Oz and James Drink to Britain this week, as well as a brewery in Castleford. Check it out here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00gn2zw/Oz_and_James_Drink_to_Britain_Episode_1/

Just to let you know that, if you haven't checked out the site for a while, we've started doing videos! The first one - how to open a bottle of bubbly - is here: http://eatingleeds.co.uk/2008/12/how-to-open-bottle-of-champagne.html.

We've got ideas for future videos but if there's anything you're keen to see - let us know!

If you're outraged about Carlsberg closing Tetley's in Leeds (and you should be!) join my group to express this: http://www.facebook.com/groups/create.php?customize&gid=32672609209#/group.php?gid=32672609209

Over in Armley, Leeds, we host a rather fabulous cake competition. Last year we had over 81 delicious cakes entered and judging was fierce. John Ford won the category of 'Weird and Wonderful' with his very realistic version of the iconic 'Mike's Carpets' Building. Are any of you up for joining in, potentially winning prizes (Peter Maturi have donated a food processors, SuperCook goodies, Cinema and Theatre Tickets, Electronics Vouchers and more)

This year we have a new category of 'Best International Cake'.....Please educate our tastebuds

More information can be found by visiting www.thearmleytouristboard.com but the event is on the 4th October from 12pm, Charlie Cake Park - top of Armley Town Street

At the end of the event, everyone gets to fill their faces with free cake!
