Putting the income tax on the table
I'm glad to see the League of Municipalities, which has too often failed to stand up for low-income New Jerseyans, attempt to put an expanded income tax on the table. I've long thought that shiftin...more

Centrism is for suckers
This story is another example of why I dislike centrist Democrats: The nation desperately needs financial reform and reregulation, but the centrists would rather stand in the way of anything meanin...more

One, two, tree -- decisions, decisions, decisions
The tree is up, but I can't tell if it's OK where it is. In recent years, we've placed it by the back window of our living room, which allowed it to be a focal point for people coming into the hous...more

A week ago I wrote "Letter to Editor" against Township putting Rocky Hill Dog Park out of business by creating a FREE township dog park. This will not be free for tax payers. Costs are estimated $30,000 to $50,000 plus insurance, plus maintenance, plus employee attendance costs most of which will be added to future year's budgets. Stated dog ownership is !900 dogs. If 10 percent of dog owners even bother with the dog park, that is a per priveledged person cost of nearly $190. Why should the other 40,000 township residents have to pay for this? Another cost is the loss of $5000- - $10,000 tax revenues when Rocky Top Dog Park goes bankrupt from the free township dog park competition. Is this what the Township should be doing with our money? I don't think so!
