Description:This page is designed to provide encouragement to those who have chosen to serve God with their artistic gifts. Let’s be clear, Satan was the worship leader in heaven and when he got kicked out he didn’t loose his abilities. That said, if there is any area he wants to attack, it’s those who have chosen to take up the mantle in human form to do what he…neglected to do. Prayerfully something on this page will encourage you when you are about to quit serving because of the battles you have to fight…in the house of God (did I just type that out with intent to publish?) We are in a war and though God has already given us the victory, He still requires that we fight by faith!

When I first got saved I asked the Lord, "Where (in the church) should I serve? He said, "Serve where you are." I am a hairdresser. At the time I worked in the most affluent part of the city. So I served. The Lord said, "Tell them about your life, and they will see me". I used the gifts I have been given to minister to those in my chair.
There have been many blessings, one being able to deliver a healing. I actually guided my son in laying hands on the man. He had been having problems with his leg for a very long time. Not only did he receive healing there, but also in the other one, in which he did not mention was just as bothersome. My son "just happened" to be with me at work (and 11 years old at the time)I have prayed in the parking lot with strangers and stopped people in the bank. When the Lord sends us He has already made the way. If "we are the church", than praise God, wherever we (with our gifts) are is church! ! Thank you for the reminder. Lets take it to the streets!

You know my baby girl (8 years old) praise dances and someone suggested her for an invitation to dance at an Adult Day Care Center in West Philly. She immediately said Yes, Mom I wnat to dance there (I love her desire to serve God through her gift) When I spoke to the Director there to get the details, she was surpised that we actually responded becsue she said that she had asked several of the churches in the neughborhood but got no response! Now we go to churhc in Morton but West Philly is our neighborhood. We beleive that the real opportunity and need is definitely outside of the walls of the church. And we teach our children this. It amazes me that we have become so comfortable ministering to each other that there is whole sea of sin sick souls, hurting folk etc that may never come in the churhc so we have to take it to them. If we are truly interesting in :What would Jesus do" we need to realize that majority of Jesus time ministering was outside!

I agree that we should be ready (which automatically implies that we are willing) to minister wherever and to whomever God leads us. The opportunities are endless because the harvest is ripe. What a blessing it is to know that God has given us such wonderful gifts to be used for His purpose and glory ... to draw souls to Him. there is no greater joy!

James, that is very interesting... I'm thinking when we are asked to minister in whatever ministry we're in, we tend to think it's in the 4 walls of the church... I'm a firm believer that true ministry begins outside the 4 walls of the church, now I am aware that although we come to church to worship and praise God, I would remind my choirs that someone is in need of healing that may walk through the doors and they may see you first in the choir stand, looking all tired or upset that they're not singing your song...or just whatever the situation is... our service is to minister in worship so the healing process can begin so that when the Word of God is brought forth the Spirit is ever moving...

Good post James!

How do you plan to use your art to reach the lost...this year? A lady recently asked would I be willing to minister (in mime) at a Senior Center and I jumped out of my skin with a "Yes" and a "Thank You"! However when she walked away the thought hit me...wow she had to ask "if I would be willing" and her posture was that of a person who was ready to receive a "no". She appeared afriad to ask like she was going to offend me. My God have we become too busy with church activities to win souls? OUCH! Thoiugts
