Description:Perception is reality, the saying goes. Modern players can never transcend time, athletes only care about the money and the fan is never wrong. Yet, all you need to do is dig a little deeper to find the truth. As a freelance sportswriter, my job is to give the audience a story around what just happened. As a consumer, I expect that sports will always provide more than I bargained for. As a fan, my hopes are to be enlightened by more than points. Welcome to the mind of a sports scribe.

Hello, all

Have you ever Googled yourself? As freaky as it is, it's also pretty cool, especially when you find yourself in places you didn't expect.

As you may have seen via Scribe or Facebook, I've put up videos of various stadia that I have been to in 2008. While I haven't uploaded the latest video onto Facebook, it apparently got some notice from a site called No Land Grab. Take away what you will from it.

Mucho thanks.

Happy '09 to all and I hope you're keeping up with the latest. In addition to the poll, there's my usual long-winded manner of saying thanks to everyone for supporting Scribe. Also, there are a few folks who have come upon this recently who I hope become regular visitors by way of Facebook or Google.

Some of you have blogs and websites and I must ask that you please let us know about them (and thanks to those who have). Regardless of subject or occupation, don't be ashamed to be shameless.

I'll return to my ravaging of some chicken wings now, but let's make '09 better than '08, even if '08 was actually good to you.

Happy holidays to all and if you have not had the opportunity to check the blog in recent days, there is a new poll along with a new post. Check them out and leave your thoughts.

Once again, many thanks for joining the network and my hopes of some major additions and changes to the site will keep you all in mind.

Once again, much thanks for joining the network. For once, I feel loved... or at least tolerated.

Over the coming days, it'll be tough for many of you to get online because of the holidays (travel, cooking, shopping, wrapping and post-eating napping). However, the holidays also provide a great opportunity to add content every single day.

Yet, I hope I'm not the only one. Check this out.

What up, folks.

Some of us spend more time on Facebook than the Google empire, some visa versa and others balance between the two. So until the network grows to the required 20 to receive the blog feed (or you check out the uploaded pages on my FB spot), enjoy and discuss.

Also, spread the word. Many thanks.

For those who have joined this, mucho thanks for keeping up.

Scribe isn't meant to be a forum for strictly the hardcore sports fan. It's meant for people who want to see the blends of the business, the culture and the media that have grown around the games.

The one favor I do ask of all of you is to spread the word. While I hope to gain stronger footing as a member of the absolutely insane NYC media corps, I also hope that Scribe is at least a point of reference for yourselves, your friends, family and colleagues. Spread the word and keep up through the following:

The beginning of each post is uploaded as a Facebook note, but to read the rest, you need to click the links that accompany them.
You can add the blog feed to your browser.
You can add Scribe to "Blogs I Follow" via Google.

Many thanks and let's keep the conversations going... or at least start them.
