This is an incredible blog! I love binaural recordings of real world sounds. I don't quite understand why this recording method isn't used more. My favourite recordings you have done are the red bull air race and the ocean. It would be really good if you did one of a forest or something, capturing loads of different bird sounds. Oh yeah and more ocean recordings as they are very relaxing to listen to. I am exploring an idea for mapping and mixing binaural recordings in a sound installation project using a software programme called max msp. I would love it if you could make a post on your blog on how you have recorded most of these and the equipment you used. I assume you use the in “own ear mic” method as I always assumed walking around with a dummy head would scare most people.

I was looking for information of binaural recordings and found this blog in wikipedia. I love it. I like very much the feeling that I'm right there, where you recorded the sounds. I also like the confusing factor that in some cases you never know when something you just heard is in recorded or for real. You should do one inside an office on a working day. with the people talking, phones ringing, computers, etc.

Great blog and great recordings. I particularly enjoyed the fireworks and I'm now looking forward to making some of my own binaural recordings. Tim, UK

This is a brilliantly executed field recording blog, and I can't believe that I've only just found it!
