DIY Awesomeness: Level-Headed Light Stand Mod

Dec 19, 2009
We love Reuben Krabbe's lazy-leg light stand mod so much we will be more than happy to help pimp his blatant appeal for new followers on Twitter and Facebook. This mod is designed for a standard light stand. But for those of you who use compact,...

"Donner, Party of Four, Please…"

Dec 19, 2009
We are snowbound here at Strobist World Headquarters, 14 inches into a forecast two feet of snow. The whole Mideast Atlantic is getting pummeled. I'm an indoor cat today, not at all missing the mandatory snow art assignment at The Sun. We are (I...

Nikon Shotguns the Web With Goodness

Dec 17, 2009
Hey, you. If you are a Nikon shooter and use CLS, you definitely want to head over to Nikon's site for three new free lighting vids. Heck, even if you aren't a Nikon type, it's worth the watch for the McNally lighting theory tidbits. There are three...

I don't quite understand the editor's opinions. The world's best photographers, the likes of Scott Kelby, Joe McNally, Moose Peterson frequently refer to this blog as "THE" source for information on flash photography - and yet - the Editor places daily pics of dogs in 9 point plus section, while Strobist, who is a surefire help for any flash problem is down at 7 something. You got to be kidding. Check it out, and write a review and put the editor in charge to shame.

One of the largest, most informative blogs regarding off camera lighting, and affordable alternatives for some expensive equipment; I learned everything I know about lighting through Strobist and the 30,000+ members of the Strobist group on Flickr would give it high regards as well!
