Oct 13, 2009
A week after notifying retailers, Wysong Pet Foods just put a notice on their website about a recall. Via Therese at PetSitUSA.com, from Wysong: The following batches of Wysong Canine Diets...

Breaking up over a pet is not insane

Oct 1, 2009
It’s smart. Especially before you’ve made the decision to get married. Slate’s Emily Yoffe–Dear Prudence–does an online Q&A with readers every week. This week, a woman wrote in to say that she is...

What do you see in this picture?

Aug 28, 2009
A man enjoying a summer day with his dog? Or a dog-fighter doing strength-training? The Baltimore Sun photographer saw the former.  Readers saw the latter. There’s no way of knowing without...

Pets are a comfort when you're not feeling well

Aug 26, 2009
Regular readers know — because I’ve whined about it, plenty — that I’ve been bedeviled by back pain in the last couple of years. Until recently, the flair-ups were always  stress- and...

More Michael Vick: At long last, have you no decency?

Dec 23, 2009
I admit it.  Before I click on my browser’s bookmark for Pet Connection each day, I click on ESPN.com.  I’ve been a sports nut longer than I’ve been pretty much anything else.  This morning, a sports headline nearly knocked me out of my chair.  ...

Bernadette: A duck not out of water

Dec 23, 2009
From yesterday: Bernadette the Duck enjoys her pool, while Agatha, Queen of the Hens, watches in wonder and slight disgust at how the Weirdest Chicken of All escapes Agatha’s oversight just by going where chickens never dare. . .

I have a giant Schaunzer, Molly she is 7 years old and I just noticed a black spot the size of a dime on her tongue. It's not raised. Should I be concerned or do you think it may be over pigmintation? Thanks Kathy
