The Spirit of Christmas

Dec 22, 2009
The problem with releasing my annual holiday podcast in early December is that I always end up missing a fantastic crop of new tracks from geeky albums that drop well after that show has been recorded and uploaded. Sure, I could silently save these...

The Cousin of Death

Dec 16, 2009
While the conventional wisdom that suicides increase during the holidays has long since been proven false, this certainly doesn't mean that those suffering from depression are miraculous cured of their affliction by the self-touted season of goodwill...

Radio Free Hipster Ep. 79: Philip K. Dick in a Box

Dec 15, 2009

Terra Obscura

superb
Hipster please is the best music and geek culture blog that I read. Z, its primary author is both immersed in the subject matter and a fantastic writer, well-practiced from his career in tech journalism. The writing style has a superior ratio of signal to noise while still being an entertaining, enjoyable, and immersive read. I get a fresh and complete look into the worlds of nerdcore hip hop, chiptunes, wizard rock, and all forms of geeky music entertainment all from this blog. Hipster Please provides links to a multitude of relevant sites and producers offering free and new content, aggregating information of interest to me from dozens of sources I could not read myself. Hipster Please, and its companion podcast Radio Free Hipster constitute an invaluable music resource to me.
