I am a teacher, and I wrote "In the Trenches: A Teacher's Defense of Public Education." This blog continues the themes of that book: public schools are important, their job is becoming increasingly difficult, and they are doing a much better job than they are given credit for.

  As a recently retired teacher, I always look forward to this blog - the only one I check regularly. Dennis seems to be very pragmatic and willing to admit faults, while holding to his considered views. The links to other blogs are also very helpful.
