Hi gtrman56, thanks for

Hi gtrman56, thanks for posting! I've just promoted this to the home page, hopefully we can get your question some attention. All the best, Scott

 I bought some L550 and

I bought some L550 and L560, i'm not 100% sure they are real, they look too new to me, and  how many BL l550 NOS  is out there?.

 I bought some from Guitar

I bought some from Guitar Oasis in the late 90's.  Brent at Guitar Oasis is a legit businessman  who had a great used gear business in California :Marshalls, Voxes, Trainwreck, Hiwatt , Selmer, Frank Zappa's old gear, Eric Johnson's  trade ins, you name it he had it kind of place. Ebay squeezed out these kind of businesses and now he is in Florida selling mostly retail online but I bet he still has some killer stuff in storage. Does yours have a paper sticker with 560 lead and 550. They do sound great but maybe too powerfull for my guitar.

Yes Andrew, mine have the

Yes Andrew, mine have the paper sticker on them. The bridge pickup is a L-550 lead that I purchased from Dusty's Guitar on Ebay. The neck pickup is a L-560 rhythm that I purchased from Guitar Oasis. The L-550 came with a sticker that reads,"Warning; This guitar equipped with Bill Lawrence pickups". I have since found out that they were probably made in the '70's when Bill was in a partnership with the "other" Bill Lawrence. They sound great in my '75 Les Paul Deluxe. Thanks for the reply.

 I've seen these on eBay

I've seen these on eBay quite a bit as well. They don't seem to be selling well at all. He still seems to have 10 or more of each. I thought once or twice about picking some up but i wasn't sure because of this:They are "mini" humbuckers not standard humbuckers. For those of you who don't know they are smaller than a regular size hubucking pickup. They will drop right into any Gibson Les Paul Deluxe with mini humbuckers or any gibson or other guitar that has P-90 Type "Soap Bar" pickups in it.I have regular size humbuckers in my guitar, I wasn't sure if there was a way I could use them since they are supposed to be smaller, like maybe an adaptor or something. If anyone knows more about that, that would be great.  Also, gtrman56, any idea how close in sound to the L-500(L,R,XL) these are? They seem to have high output according to the auction. It's says: Bill Lawrence output specs below. These are average and may very a little. L-550 LEAD  14.09            L-550 RHYTHM  11.47 L-560  LEAD  12.16L-560 RHYTHM   7.80  Thanks guys!

Hey MakoAoyama, I don't know

Hey MakoAoyama, I don't know how they compare to the XL500's, as I've never heard them.  As far as mounting them in a guitar routed for full size humbuckers, these screw directly to an existing metal plate in the routes in my Deluxe, with a foam rubber pad between them and the plates for height adjustment, as opposed to an outer ring with screws and springs for adjustment. Gibson installed  "goof rings" on some '70's era Deluxes that were routed for full size humbuckers.  I've seen the rings for sale on Ebay from time to time. Hope this helps!
